MASSEY FERGUSON 2168 RICE AND CORN COMBINE HARVESTER

FROM THE PIONEERS IN COMBINE HARVEST TECHNOLOGY

The Massey Ferguson 2168 is a tough, no-nonsense tracked combine harvester that could efficiently harvest rice under demanding conditions in Asia, where extreme weather conditions like heavy rains and intense heat are common.

With market-leading features, the MF2168 is simple to operate, reliable and dependable. It has a tough 4-cylinder engine that economically drives the efficient threshing mechanism, which delivers grains to either a hopper with unloading auger or a bagging system.
The tracked drive enables the MF2168 to work under the worst field conditions that are common in Asian rice fields.

All Certified Equipment Trading Corporation (ACETC), the exclusive distributor of Massey Ferguson farm tractors in the Philippines, also possesses the after-sales expertise and quality spare parts to keep the MF2168 operating for many years.

MAJOR FEATURES

4-CYLINDER, WATER-COOLED ENGINE

The MF2168 is powered by a vertical, in-line 4-cylinder engine that is water-cooled, giving it more flexibility to deal with conditions where outside temperatures are high.
The engine produces 65 kilowatts or 87 horsepower.

65-LITER FUEL CAPACITY

the large fuel capacity could allow the MF2168 to operate for longer hours before refuelling, thus increasing efficiency in the harvesting of palay (unmilled) rice.

GEARBOX WITH HYDROSTATIC SYSTEM

With a gearbox and hydrostatic (HST) system, the MF2168 could operate smoothly under challenging field conditions.

It has 3 speed options for forward and reverse, with the speed depending on soil conditions, and density and status of crops.

The system allows the MF2168 to have uniform speeds going forward or reverse: 0-3 kph at low speed setting; 0-5 kph at standard speed setting; and 0-10 kph at high speed setting.

RUBBER TRACKS

Rubber tracks help the MF 2168 traverse asphalt or concrete roads leading to the rice fields where it would be used. Also, rubber tracks are best for conditions where moisture and mud are prevalent, a condition that could cause corrosion or rust to metal parts.

THRESHING SYSTEM

The MF2168 has a transverse flow system where palay to be threshed are not funnelled into a small opening, thus preventing clogging.
Competitor brands employ the axial flow that is prone to clogging.

For a detailed explanation on the transverse flow system, you may want to watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSW3-HeYL7Y

It also features a double threshing drum while competitor brands only have one long drum (axial flow). This means The MF 2168 has 2 drums that increases the combine harvester‘s threshed grain purity to 97.6% purity (according to an AMTEC test result).

DISCHARGE METHOD

The MF2168has sack type discharge system, where 2 bags/sacks are simultaneously fed. Two people take charge of the bagging while a driver operates the combine harvester. This assures “Farming-in-the-go” with no need to stop operations in the field.

A Boom/Tank type tank within the combine harvester is filled up and once it is full, it will stop to unload the grains through a boom.

ANTI-CLOGGING MECHANISM

It has an Automatic/Self-adjusting header feed auger and conveyor drum – this is a preventive mechanism of the MF2168 to avoid clogging or “over-feeding” or “mabulunan.” Competitor brands have a manually-operated reverse function in their conveyance system (axial flow), which is more susceptible to clogging. (The MF2168 has transverse flow system that has a very low probability of clogging.)

FOR MORE EFFICIENT HARVESTING OF PADDY RICE

The MF2168 can harvest paddy rice over one hectare in about one hour, which is faster and more efficient compared to the 12 to 24 hours for a crew of 10 employing the traditional manual harvesting method.

A minimum of three operators are needed to operate the MF2168.

Since it was launched in 2017, more than 100 MF 2168s have been sold by ACETC. These units currently operate in the following regions: Cagayan Valley (Region 2), Central Luzon (Region 3), CALABARZON (Region 4A), MIMAROPA (Region 4B), Western Visayas (Region 6), Central Visayas (Region 7), SOCCSKSARGEN (Region 12) and Caraga (Region 13).

BACKED BY ACETC’S FAMED “SERVICE TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL”

ACETC also takes pride in its delivering “Service to the Highest Level” through its after-sales expertise and quality spare parts, which it also applies to the MF 2168.

So, acquiring an MF 2168 with ACETC’s commitment to deliver “Service to the Highest Level” could be an excellent business decision for farmers, cooperatives and agribusiness enterprises.
